כלים

המחזה "תעלולי סקפן" הוא קומדיה צרפתית שכתב מולייר המספרת את סיפורם של שלושה: אוקטב וליאנדר, שני נערים מפונקים מבית עשיר, וסקפן, ספק משרת ספק יועץ תככים, שניתן להשתמש בשכלו החריף כדי להיחלץ מצרות שעדיף היה מלכתחילה לא להיכנס אליהם.

השניים ליאנדר ואוקטב מתאהבים כל אחד בשתי נערות עניות, אך חוששים מתגובת אבותיהם שלהם יש תכניות אחרות לגמרי לגביהם. על מנת להינצל מעונש, ועל מנת שלא לאבד את אהבת הוריהם(וגם לא חלילה את הירושה), הם מגייסים לעזרתם את סקפן, כדי שבעזרת שכלו החריף ופניו התמימות יחלצם מהצרה שאליה נקלעו. סקפן שאינו מחמיץ שום הזדמנות לשקר, לרמות ולנצל את תמימות זולתו, נרתם כמובן למשימה, ובמהלך ההצגה עובר מתחבולה אחת לאחרת בכדי לסייע לשני חבריו-אדוניו עד הסוף הטוב שבו הכול בא על מקומו בשלום.
