צוותי העבודה של משרד הביטחון ורשות מקרקעי ישראל עובדים בימים אלה על הרחבת ההסכם לפינוי מחנות צה"ל. ההסכם יכלול פינוי מחנות נוספים באזורי ביקוש ויאפשר בניית עשרות אלפי יחידות דיור חדשות, מתוכן ישווקו אלפים עד סוף השנה מנכ"ל משרד הביטחון, אלוף (מיל') אמיר אשל, ומנהל רשות מקרקעי ישראל, ינקי קוינט, סיכמו כי בהמשך לחתימה על הסכם הקדמת פינוי מחנות צה"ל, יקיימו הצדדים מו"מ מואץ על הרחבת ההסכם לפינוי מחנות נוספים, שאינם כלולים במערכת ההסכמים הנוכחית. זאת במטרה לשחרר קרקעות באזורי ביקוש ולהגדיל את היצע שיווקי הדירות, המסחר, התיירות והתעסוקה, בד בבד עם חידוש תשתיות צה"ל והעתקתן לצפון ולדרום.
